Google Wi-Fi hits 47 airports
Google today extended its free holiday Wi-Fi deal to include 47 airports. Major stops in common destinations such as Boston, Las Vegas, Orlando and San Jose will have unrestricted wireless Internet access starting from today and lasting through to January 15th. Two of the airports, in Burbank and Seattle, will have the Wi-Fi permanently.
The addition complements the free Wi-Fi on Virgin Google started offering last month and is meant to alleviate the lack of communication for travelers as well as to ease the burden of layovers.
Google's expansion comes just after Yahoo said it would provide free Wi-Fi for an entire year in Times Square as a promo for its reworked front page.
